The economic performance of our Company gave the right framework to obtain annual remarkable awards, national and county-wide, offered by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania.

Business excellence, outstanding economic performance and ethical behavior in business ranked the Farms Division first in the Top of Companies, in the last 5 years.

Top of Companies Award is an annual public appreciation by which the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania analyzes and awards the results of companies from Romania.

The record of awards highlighting the outstanding results achieved by Smithfield Romania was completed at the Integrated Workshop IndustriaCărnii.ro, by obtaining the Trophy ”Business Model for Romania”, in 2014. This award is given in recognition of the “contribution to the development of the agri-food sector in Romania, to promote product quality and the outstanding results achieved by domestic and foreign companies that are a model for all sectors of the Romanian economy”.

At the CSR Awards Gala from Romania, Romanian CSR Awards, our Company was awarded for innovative sustainability projects initiated and developed internally: in 2016, through the project Smithfield Friends, a program encouraging volunteering and personal involvement of our colleagues in the Smithfield team, for the benefit of a social cause; in 2014, through the project Smithfield Romania – P.O.R.C., a program of employees’ engagement in security issues and occupational health, to Prevent, Observe, Report and Correct the risks identified in the Company operational area, and in 2013, through the project ”Back to School”, a Smithfield Romania initiative that celebrated in 2016 its 10th anniversary, a project to support education and prevent school drop-out, which included at that time a total of 30,000 beneficiaries.

At the national competition ”PR Awards 2014”, our internal Newsletter – Mozaic Smithfield Romania – received the diploma of excellence for creativity, innovation and impact.
