Morten Jensen joined Smithfield Prod in 2006 as a President and CEO for Eastern and Central Europe. Previously Mr. Jensen was the President of Animex, Poland and held a number of positions with Danish Crown and served as a plant manager for Arhus Slagterhus.

Mihaela Rad has more than 5 years of experience in environmental health and safety management and joined Smithfield Prod team in 2008, being responsible for implementing the Environmental Management System in accordance with ISO 14001 International Standards.

Previously she was an Environmental Health and Safety Manager for an important automotive industry company, being responsible for the implementation and support of the Environment Health and Safety programs and procedures, risk assessments, identification and evaluation of environmental aspects and impacts.

Our environmental manager, Mihaela Rad, studied Environmental Physics Sciences at West University of Timisoara and Barcelona University having been certified as an Environmental Manager by the European Organization for Quality and Romanian Quality Association since 2006.

Steluta joined Smithfield Prod in 2009 after 10 years of legal experience, carrying out her entire professional activity within multi-national companies, acquiring specific knowledge of commercial, civil and labor law.

She is responsible for a wide range of legal activities such as the procedural approaches regarding companies’ incorporation and administration in general, having prepared, analyzed and reviewed a variety of commercial and civil contracts, companies’ representation towards different state institutions and bodies, competitive courts included, and specialized assistance granted onto all company’s departments. 

She is a Law Graduate and a founding member of Timis County Legal Advisor’s College, constantly taking part into various national workshops/specialized symposiums.

Felix has had more than 14 years of experience in meat industry and joined Smithfield Prod operations in 2007, as a Production Manager.

Previously he collaborated with some of the most important slaughterhouses in Germany and Spain, coordinating hundreds of people in the slaughtering, de-boning and semi-processed areas, thus contributing to the success of these important slaughterhouses.

His professional target is to maintain the quality of Comtim products and to diversify the range of products. Equally prioritary is to obtain as high yields as possible and to use as efficiently as possible all the by-products resulted from the entire slaughtering process. Moreover, he permanently makes sure that the employees benefit from the best working conditions, stress-free and a pleasant working environment.

Dana Brindescu joined Smithfield operations in 2005 being responsible for the Financial Reporting, Forecasting Analyzing, and implementation of internal controls and procedures.

Prior to this position she held positions in auditing field, being responsible for serving large international and local clients within various industries, IFRS and US GAAP specialist providing technical accounting and auditing advice.

She graduated from Economic Studies, West University, Timisoara, and is also a graduate of the Association of Chartered and Certified Accountants courses – UK. She also holds a Master degree on Romanian Taxation.

Tiberiu Abraham joined the company in 2004 and has over 20 years of experience in the area, being also a Certified Auditor for ISO 22000-2005. He started up the creation of Smithfield Prod quality team, which has successfully implemented the H.A.C.C.P. system and obtained the ISO 22000-2005 certification by TUV AUSTRIA, a prestigious international body.

His targets are continuous improvement of the system and 0 complaints from the customers.

He graduated from the Veterinary Medicine College, Hygiene and laboratory specialty, 5th year student with the Food Products Technology Faculty.

Mihaela Adam joined the company in 2008.

Previously she was a Business Consultant within one of the biggest fast food chains in Romania and Human Resources Manager for an important multinational company located in Timisoara. She is a founding member of the West HR Club. She plans on developing all HR management functions within Smithfield Prod, reaching the performance objectives of the organization and improving the activities related to motivation increase and working relationship. 

She graduated from the Technical University of Timisoara-Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering, being certified in Human Resources Management by West University Timisoara and holds an Operation & Marketing Course – Chicago, Foundation of Leadership training– Munchen.

Dorel Bodea joined Smithfield team in 2005 shortly after the beginning of the operations in Romania, taking part in the refurbishment of Freidorf slaughterhouse since the beginning.

He has almost 30 years of experience as a technical engineer and previously he held various managerial positions within one of the most important automotive companies in Timisoara, for many years.

He has a technical educational background, graduating from the Politechnical Institute in Timisoara.

Florin Raba joined Smithfield Prod team in 2006, as a distribution manager, being responsible for developing the fresh meat distribution network in Western Romania. Currently he holds the position of Commercial Manager with Smithfield Prod, being also responsible for the Key Accounts sales channel and industrial strategic clients.

Previously he was a Chief technologist for food industry and Outlet director for one of the dry meat product leading companies in Romania, being in charge with the logistic center and has contributed to substantial sales increase.

He graduated from the Foodstuff Product Faculty at USAMVB Timisoara and holds an after-graduation diploma in Marketing and business management at West University, Timisoara.

Robert Nagy Voina joined Smithfield team in March 2006 as an Environmental Engineer. In October 2007 he joined the rendering department team, to be appointed as rendering manager in January 2009.

His ongoing targets are to maximize the by-products added value and constantly supply our costumers with specified and dedicated products.

Robert is an Environmental Engineer graduate from the Politechnical University in Timisoara, having completed his diploma at Technical University in Gelsenkirchen, Germany and holds a Master degree on Non-polluting Process Technologies at Politechnical University in Timisoara.

He joined Smithfield in January 2005, shortly after the beginning of the operations in Romania.

Prior to joining Smithfield team, he spent five years with one of the most important IT companies worldwide as part of the Global Services/Strategic Outsourcing division, when he participated in starting and operating the IT infrastructure in several plants in the Western part of Romania, including greenfield projects.

He holds a Computers-Automation degree at Technical University Timisoara.

Our logistic manager has over 10 year experience in logistics and joined Smithfield Prod team in 2008.

Previously he held the position of Logistic Manager for one of the biggest retailers in Romania, where he coordinated the building of one of the biggest logistics center in Romania at the time being.

He graduated from Polytechnical University in Timisoara and completed his education with the following training courses of the Logistics Romanian Association: Transportation Management  and Distribution Courses, Inventories Control in Purchasing Management Course, Warehouses Management Course.

Rares joined Smithfield Prod team in 2008.

He has more than 6 years experience in Supply Chain Management in multinational companies, of which, 4 years activating as European staff of Supply Chain Management for the biggest automotive supplier worldwide. His main achievement is putting together and organizing purchasing department of Smithfield Prod.

He is a graduate of West University Timisoara, Economic Sciences.

Paul Despi has joined our team with a solid background in implementing food safety programs and policies. Paul has an over 12 years experience in Canada designing and implementing food safety programs such as HACCP and ISO with positive results.

He graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Cluj-Napoca and continuous upgrading with Guelph Food Technology Centre, Ontario, such as: HACCP implementation, Food Hygiene and Safety, and Canning with Food Processors of Canada.

His main goal is to bring the Food Safety Management and Quality to the next level.

Cristina Berneanu joined Smithfield Prod team in 2006, as Executive Assistant and she was appointed as Public Relations Manager in June 2009, after carrying on the first CSR Smithfield Prod projects for the company. Previously she was actively engaged in various NGOs, from volunteering to project coordinating and worked for a Regional Development Agency, within Structural Funds management.

Her target at Smithfield Prod is to carry on successfully the Company CSR Strategy which ensures a platform for responsible behavior for all Smithfield Prod employees and various environmental and social programs for the benefit of the local community.

She is a Political and Communications Sciences graduate, having completed her formal education with a Master Degree in Lobbying and Advocacy at West University, Timisoara.

Cristina Greavu - Joined Smithfield sales team in February 2007 being appointed sales Support Manager in 2009. Previously she worked for 3 years for a dry meat product leading companies in Romania.

Cristina currently coordinates the support activities for the sales department that is orders take over, observance of sales forecast, de boning plan and final orders release to execution.

She holds a Master Degree in Psychology, at West University in Timisoara.
